The Management Students Association at SOM-NITC aims to provide support to help the students and faculty to develop off campus opportunities and ensure their career growth. Our goal is to constantly monitor the innovative and challenging environment within the organisation and help the students to improve their skills. We facilitate fruitful interaction among our students, faculty, industrial professionals and alumni through a variety of career and social events.
Tarang is the management-fest conducted by SOMS. Initiated with the inception of SOMS, the fest provides for a platform for management students to engage their adroit abilities in various management disciplines. The year 2016 saw participation of students from various colleges from the length and breadth of South India. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" goes an epic footnote in philosophy of the pedagogy. Thus, the festival also incorporates, fun activities and interaction with venerable personalities and celebrities. Highly appreciated by the participants and guests, the satisfaction of students speaks for itself.
Managerial Expertise Talks (MEX Talks) is an interactive platform where corporate personages from assorted corporate environments, lay bare the intimates of ideation, myths, realities, obstacles-encountered and decision-making. This is intended to bridge the gap between the aspiring young minds and the goals they are in pursuit of, by fostering their intellect and nurturing their sync with the current corporate trends.
Throughout the year students engage themselves in numerous pursuits for excellence. This includes conferences and seminars and hands-on activities, most of which are coordinated by the Academic Team. Worth mentioning amongst these include sessions on corporate etiquettes, session on dining etiquettes and GIAN course on Manpower Planning Using Annualized Hours. Participation in numerous competitions, fests, workshops and seminars is facilitated by SOMS for the pupils. And the pupils in turn have brought laurels at many of these events
